By MRA-UK: The International Men’s Day (IMD) debate was led by Nick Fletcher, chair of the APPG on issues affecting men and boys, and Conservative MP for Don Valley. Mr Fletcher would not win any prizes for his oratory. However, the content of his speech was good. In particular he called, repeatedly, for a Minister for Men, so as to be able to address with action the issues he raised in his speech.
Ben Bradley (Conservative, Mansfield) led the IMD debate in 2020 and was (I think) the first to call for a Minister for Men in Parliament. Bradley was pilloried in the press for it, with the trotting out of the tired old “why have IMD when men already have 365 days a year”. I thank the authors of these articles for proving the thesis of the empathy gap. Lamentably, in the IMD debate in 2021, some MPs still found it necessary to display their gynocentrism even on the one day that it would be nice to have it put aside.

On Wednesday, Musk asked in a poll whether Twitter should offer "general amnesty to suspended accounts," to which 72.4% voted "Yes".
"The people have spoken," Musk tweeted Friday, adding "Amnesty begins next week."
"Vox Populi, Vox Dei," he said in closing - a Latin phrase meaning "The voice of the People, the voice of God."
Musk's decision is sure to piss off even more advertisers, who have been pulling ad spending (as they underperform the market). Advertisers including Audi, General Mills, GM, United Airlines and Pfizer have all paused ads, leading to what Musk described as a "massive drop" in revenue.
And... it looks like he gives exactly zero fucks. (Though what of one Alex E. Jones?)

Sakina al-Gharib, 74, remembers when she first moved into her white stone house. It was more than 40 years ago, soon after marrying her husband Sabri, who died in 2012.
Nestled on a hilltop near their occupied West Bank village of Beit Ijza – just north of Jerusalem – Sakina would wake up each morning and look out at the rolling hills of olive trees lighting up under the rising sun.
“We were the only family on this hilltop,” Sakina told The Electronic Intifada. “It was very quiet and peaceful. We used to be able to see the Mediterranean Sea from here. It was the perfect place to raise our children.”

He labeled Trump “a dangerous far right politician who has a history of inciting violence,” and proclaimed that “he must not be allowed to use social media,” before calling for more general regulation of “online speech.”
In the same sentence, Khan declared that “freedom of speech is vital, but it must be balanced.”
This is the same guy who boxed up Winston Churchill’s statue outside the British parliament, and World War II Memorials when BLM extremists decided they were racist.

at FTX is news at its most entertaining. Who doesn’t love the story of a
bigshot Jewish billionaire revealed to be an outright fraud? It’s
black-and-white. FTX owes billions in debt and doesn’t actually own a
dime of the assets it claimed. Game over.
At first blush, the
story seems simple. A Jewish con man cynically convinced a bunch of gullible
financiers that he was a an eccentric young visionary and a really great
guy, and he ran off with the dough.
But take a closer look at the mainstream coverage, and you’ll realize there’s far more to this story than a classic financial fraud. In fact, the puff pieces from mainstream outlets about SBF and the causes he was funding—most notably, the pandemic planning industry—even after his empire was revealed to be an outright fraud, are the clearest instance we’ve seen of the modern political machine in all its cynicism.
Both the New York Times and the Washington Post ran articles portraying SBF as a more-or-less honest businessman with a big heart who got tangled up in a bad situation. This is, of course, wildly inaccurate. From the very beginning, SBF had no intention of engaging in honest business. Just another Jewish con man, he never owned a dime of the assets he said he did.
