Authored by Matt Taibbi: Predictably, the New York Times pooh-poohed the release of the classified annex to the Durham report. Charlie Savage wrote:

Kash Patel, the F.B.I. director, and other Trump allies have declared that a newly declassified report on the Russia investigation provides “evidence that the Clinton campaign plotted to frame President Trump and fabricate the Russia collusion hoax.” The reality is almost precisely the opposite… The report shows that a purported email that Trump supporters have long tried to portray as a smoking gun is instead most likely a fake. Russian spies appear to have tried to make it seem authentic by assembling passages lifted from actual emails by different hacking victims…

Mr. Trump and his aides have coupled those releases with wild and inaccurate claims about what they show, spinning the reports as proof of his long-running narrative that the investigation was a hoax instigated by enemies for political reasons.

This whole “assembled by Russian spies” line is based on one assessment about a pair of emails likely pulled by Russians from other real American victims of hacking.

The legislation was presented as an effort to protect children from seeing things they shouldn’t be seeing online.

However, to absolutely no one’s surprise, it’s already being used to eviscerate free speech.

The first thing that was blocked were videos of protests outside hotels where the government is housing illegal immigrants on the taxpayer’s dime.

British users of X shared screenshots of messages that popped up while they attempted to view footage from the protests, which started in Epping after a migrant sexually assaulted a teenage girl and have since spread around the country.

Well that’s all new territory in Starmer’s long list of failure. It’s the kind of loyalty Labour under Starmer can only dream of reclaiming, bit Corbyn has always inspired that and so he is again, a delicious dose of karma for Keith playing out before our eyes.

By Dr. Paul Craig Roberts: In the past few days I have listen to John Helmer say on Nima’s show that President Trump’s latest irresponsible outburst signals Putin that Russia is facing war.  Scott Ritter also on Nima’s show said the same.  I share the concern.

My position since the “Maidan Revolution” in Kiev in 2014, that is, since Washington’s overthrow of the democratically elected Ukrainian government and installed  a Russiaphobic puppet, has been that Putin’s unwillingness to deal decisively with the situation, first by permitting the overthrow, second by refusing the Donbas Russians’ 2014 request to be reincorporated into Russia like Crimea, and third by foolishly trusting to the Minsk Agreement and giving Washington and NATO eight years to build a Ukrainian army, guaranteed a conflict that would widen into a catastrophic event.

Hemer and Ritter say that is what we now face with Trump’s latest recklessness being the icing on the cake that Putin’s toleration of endless provocations has baked.
