Indirect losses, resulting from ceased business operations, amount to $1.5 billion.

– The most significant losses have been at the 'Weizmann' Institute and the 'Bazan' refinery in Haifa. Hebrew outlets claim that the destroyed 'Weizmann' Institute alone suffered over $500 million in damages. The research and data samples were irrecoverably lost, with no backups available.

– More than 11,000 Israeli settlers have become homeless, and 33,000 houses were damaged, approximately 30% of which have been fully destroyed. Additionally, 4,500 businesses and 4,100 vehicles were destroyed.

The latest round of layoffs at Microsoft’s Xbox division are part of the company’s broader strategy of organisation-wide restructuring.

Xbox reportedly has been under severe pressure from Microsoft executives to amp up its profit margins ever since it acquired Activision Blizzard in 2023 for $69 billion. 

Earlier this month, it was reported that the company was planning to cut thousands of jobs especially in sales. This is seen as a part of its latest move to cut down its workforce as it pumps billions of dollars into AI development and infrastructure such as data centres. Microsoft is planning to enact these layoffs in early July after the end of its fiscal year. The job cuts may not solely impact sales teams, and its schedule may change.

“Today the Supreme Court chose to abandon trans children in America,” Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) said.

“Upholding the Tennessee ban on medical care for trans kids is heartless. This is a sad day, but know I will never stop fighting to protect trans children everywhere,” he added. 

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) claimed that “trans kids suffer when they don’t get medically-necessary care.”

“This is a brazen political decision by the Supreme Court,” she added. “My heart is with trans kids and their loved ones. I won’t stop fighting to make sure they can be exactly who they are.”

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) pinned blame on Republicans, claiming their supposed “cruel crusade against trans kids is all an attempt to divert attention from ripping healthcare away from millions of Americans.”

“We’ll keep fighting and we’ll keep marching on,” he said.

Newsweek reports that "Russia plans to train hundreds of Chinese military personnel this year on lessons learned from its ongoing invasion of Ukraine," based on regional sources. Some of what has been 'learned' is how to defend against US-made and NATO-supplied weaponry - something which Beijing is surely interested in amid the long-running Taiwan standoff with Washington.

"Instructors will cover methods for countering weapons systems used by Ukrainian forces that were produced by the United States and its NATO allies, a source in Ukraine's top intelligence agency told the outlet," the Newsweek report continues.
