By Michael Snyder: If Barack Obama is going to attack Syria, he is going to do it without the support of the American people,
without the approval of Congress, without the approval of the United
Nations, and without the help of the British. Now that the British
Parliament has voted against
a military strike, the Obama administration is saying that it may take
"unilateral action" against Syria. But what good would "a shot across
Syria's bow" actually do? A "limited strike" is not going to bring down
the Assad regime and it is certainly not going to end the bloody civil
war that has been raging inside Syria. Even if the U.S. eventually
removed Assad, the al-Qaeda affiliated rebels
that would take power would almost certainly be even worse than Assad.
Even in the midst of this bloody civil war, the rebels have taken the
time and the effort to massacre entire Christian villages.
Why is Barack Obama so obsessed with helping such monsters? There is
no good outcome in Syria. The Assad regime is absolutely horrible and
the rebels are even worse. Why would we want the U.S. military to get
involved in such a mess?
Telling the truth has become a revolutionary act, so let us salute those who disclose the necessary facts.

Syria, Pipeline Politics, OPEC & the USDollar - The Golden Jackass
By Jim Willie CB: Syria
is about the last gasp for the Petro-Dollar, the emergence of energy

a grand adjustment process in global commerce and banking. Refer to

It failed. The entire Arab Spring movement, an ambitious disruptive

German Election Finally Gets Messy: “Euro Is More Than A Currency” And Greece “Shouldn’t Have Been Allowed In”
By Wolf Richter: No debacle is allowed to interfere with Chancellor Angela Merkel’s
efforts to hang on to her job, and any debacles get swept under the rug
at least until after the elections on September 22. Every time uppity
opposition voices stir up some controversy, it’s brushed off, denied,
ridiculed, or minimized – and it has worked admirably well so far.
Even Edward Snowden’s revelations in the media detailing German involvement in NSA spying activities, among other sins, were successfully shuffled off. Llike in the US, it's a bi-partisan debacle, compromising political figures on both sides. The scandal is festering, but apparently without political fallout.
So time is running out for Peer Steinbrück, the SPD’s candidate to unseat one of the most popular German politicians. And when Finance Minister Wolfgang Schäuble, for whatever reason, mentioned a week ago that Greece would need a third bailout, Steinbrück jumped on it. Another debacle! Turns out, Greece, though it has disappeared from the media, hasn’t disappeared from the list of bankrupt euro states. And Steinbrück needs to do something fast to change the election math.
If the election were held next Sunday, a series of weekly surveys, has been fairly consistent: 41% of the vote would go to the governing CDU/CSU and 5% to their coalition partner, the FDP, barely squeaking over the 5% minimum to get into the Bundestag. Together, the coalition would have 46% of the vote. On the other side: the SPD would garner 22%, the Greens 11%, and the Left Party 10%, giving their coalition 43% of the vote. The remainder wouldn’t clear the minimum.

As Syria distracts, here’s what else is happening while no one is looking…
By Simon Black: Rome, Italy - As everyone is now completely distracted with the looming prospect of
yet another illegal war to be waged by the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize

looking.
Gun control
Today, the Obama administration announced fresh measures to restrict the availability of firearms in the Land of the Free.
This time around, they want to ban the re-importation of firearms that have been exported from the US to allied nations. They also want to raise the bar on federal background checks.
But rather than go through Congress, the Obama administration is simply going to create a new ‘rule’.
‘Rules’ are a type of regulation created directly by agencies within the Executive Branch. They’re not laws, but they carry the same weight and effect as laws, complete with criminal and civil penalties.
Oftentimes, hundreds of new rules are proposed every single day in the Land of the Free. It’s the easiest way for the baby bombing President to circumvent the Constitution and simply decree whatever he wants.

In Stunning Move UK Parliament Rejects Syria Military Strike, Obama and the US MIC "Willing To Go It Alone"
Submitted by Tyler Durden: The UK House of Commons, in a
razor thin vote, rejected the Cameron proposal for military action in
Syria with a vote 285 to 272.
Cameron promptly said he would respect the will of the House of Commons and UK Defense Secretary Phillip Hammond confirmed there would be no UK military intervention in Syria. Incidentally, this may have been the best outcome for an already humiliated British premier who will avoid being dragged into an unpopular war having both sided with his greatest ally, the US, and also relented and listened to the voice of the people. More importantly, the "people" in the UK actually had a voice, which is more than can so far be said about developments in the US. And speaking of the US, the NYT reports that even as the Syrian war "option" is slowly being shut out for staunch US allies (except for France of course), that Obama is "willing to move ahead with a limited military strike on Syria even while allies like Britain are debating whether to join the effort [ZH: and have now voted against it] and without an endorsement from the United Nations Security Council" citing senior administration officials.

U.S. Dollar: “Reserve” to “Laughing Stock” Currency in Less Than One Century
By Michael Lombardi: As we march towards another debt ceiling limit…
The U.S. Treasury Secretary, Jacob J. Lew,
wrote a letter to Congress this week stating the U.S. government will
hit the debt ceiling by October. He wrote, “…Congress should act as soon
as possible to protect America’s good credit by extending normal
borrowing authority well before any risk of default becomes imminent.”
(Source: U.S. Department of the Treasury, August 26, 2013.)
Lew added, “Protecting the full faith and
credit of the United States is the responsibility of Congress because
only Congress can extend the nation’s borrowing authority. Failure to
meet that responsibility would cause irreparable harm to the American
economy.” (Source: Ibid.)
Will Congress raise the debt ceiling again? It certainly will!
Since 1960, Congress has raised the debt
ceiling 78 times—49 times under Republican presidents and 29 times under
Democratic presidents. (Source: U.S. Department of the Treasury web
site, last accessed August 27, 2013.)
The debt ceiling, which is set by Congress, puts a restriction on how much the national debt can be increased.
On August 23, 2012, the U.S. national debt
stood at $15.97 trillion. Fast-forward one year to August 23, 2013, and
our national debt hit $16.73 trillion.

China Joins Russia In Warning Syria Strike Would Have "Catastrophic Consequences"
Submitted by Tyler Durden: Until now, the loudest and most material
opponent to a Syrian invasion by the "liberating" powers was Russia.
Moments ago, China joined the anti-western axis. BBC reports: "Russia
and China have stepped up their warnings against military intervention
in Syria, with Moscow saying any such action would have "catastrophic
consequences" for the region."
More:Earlier, UK Foreign Secretary William Hague told the BBC an international military response to the suspected use of chemical weapons would be possible without the backing of the UN.
The UN Security Council is divided, with Russia and China opposing military intervention and the UK and France warning that the UN could be bypassed if there was "great humanitarian need".
In a column in The Times newspaper, former UK PM Tony Blair has written that if the West does not intervene to support freedom and democracy in Egypt and Syria, the Middle East will face catastrophe
The Periphery is Failing
The next big economic dislocation might be only weeks away
By Chris Martenson: For years we've preached the From the Outside In
principle of markets: When trouble starts, it nearly always does so out
in the weaker periphery before creeping towards the core.
We saw this in the run-up to the housing bubble collapse, as
sub-prime mortgages gave way before prime loans, and in Europe, as
smaller economies like Greece, Ireland, and Cyprus have fallen first and
hardest (so far). We see this today in accelerating food stamp use
among poorer U.S. households. In each case, the weaker economic parties
give way first before being followed, over time, by the stronger ones.
Using this framework, we can often get several weeks to several
months of advance notice before trouble erupts in the next ring closer
to the center.
Which makes today notable, as we're receiving a number of new warning signs. The periphery is giving way.

Syrian Electronic Army takes down Zionist New York Times website, claims Twitter’s domains
RT: The Syrian Electronic Army has claimed access to a number of Twitter’s international domains shortly after bringing down the New York Times’ website. The attack was apparently made through Melbourne IT.
The SEA managed to alter both contact details and domain name servers of the New York Times and Twitter after reportedly having gained access to their registry records in Melbourne IT. The SEA also claimed responsibility for hacking the Huffington Post UK domain.
As a result of the attack the New York Times’ website has been disabled for the second time in under a month. The newspaper attributed the outage to a “malicious external attack” widely thought to have come from hackers affiliated with the Syrian Electronic Army.
“Many users are having difficulty accessing the New York Times online,” the paper wrote on its Facebook page.

The colonial stepping-stone to Syria comes into service.
We know how long the attack on Syria has been in the planning
The Slog: Five months on from the anal gang-banging of Cyprus, the reasons for
having done it remain multivariate but increasingly clear. The piece reproduced below is from March 23rd this year, and contains the following words:
‘…What very few people do for
starters is just look where the hell Cyprus is. As you can see from this
map, it is a long way east of Rhodes. That country it appears to be
pointing a finger at is Syria. Just after that comes Iraq and Iran. A
spit and a throw to the north is Erdogan-run Turkey. Every one of these
countries is in one form or another the victim (willing or otherwise) of
Islamist advance….I don’t think Barack Obama was in the region to talk
about peace. He was doing the “I’m here to remind you all that I’m
keeping a beady eye on this shit”.’
In the late hours of last night CET, Warplanes and military
transporters have begun arriving at Britain’s locally protested colonial Akrotiri airbase on
Cyprus, less than 100 miles from the Syrian coast, in a sign of
increasing preparations for a military strike against the Assad regime
in Syria.
China and Japan REALLY Don’t Like Each Other
By Zheng Wang (汪铮): Having friends in both China and Japan, I
have often been asked to explain both sides’ actions since the
Diaoyu/Senkakus crisis began in September 2012. For example, my Chinese
friends cannot understand why the Abe government is so “stubborn” and
isn’t willingly trying to repair relations with China, while my Japanese
friends wonder the same thing about the Chinese government.
A recent survey of Chinese and Japanese citizens views of each other’s countries helps shed light on these issues. The results of the survey could provide answers to the questions of my friends.
This survey, which was commissioned by the Japanese think tank Genron NPO and China Daily, asked 1,805 Japanese citizens and 1,540 Chinese citizens about their views of the other country.
The survey found that 92.8 percent of Chinese respondents hold unfavorable views of Japan, a startling 28 percent rise from the year before. Similarly, 90.1 percent of respondents in Japan had an unfavorable or relatively unfavorable view of China, compared with 84.3 percent last year. For both countries, these figures were higher than in the previous nine annual surveys conducted.

Meet Saudi Arabia's Bandar bin Sultan: One Of The Puppetmasters Behind The Syrian War
Submitted by Tyler Durden: Yesterday the Telegraph's Evans-Pritchard dug up a note that we had posted almost a month ago,
relating to the "secret" meeting between Saudi Arabia and Russia, in
which Saudi's influential intelligence chief Prince Bandar bin Sultan
met with Putin and regaled him with gifts, including a multi-billion
arms deal and a promise that Saudi is "ready to help Moscow play a
bigger role in the Middle East at a time when the United States is
disengaging from the region", if only Putin would agree to give up his
alliance with Syria's al-Assad and let Syria take over, ostensibly
including control of the country's all important natgas transit infrastructure.
What was not emphasized by the Telegraph is that Putin laughed at the
proposal and brushed aside the Saudi desperation by simply saying "nyet." However, what neither the Telegraph, nor we three weeks ago, picked up on, is what happened after Putin put Syria in its place. We now know, and it's a doozy.
Courtesy of As-Safir (translated here), we learn all the gritty details about what really happened at the meeting, instead of just the Syrian motives and the Russian conclusion, and most importantly what happened just as the meeting ended, unsuccessfully (at least to the Saudi). And by that we mean Saudi Arabia's threats toward Russia and Syria.
First, some less well-known observations on who it was that was supporting the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt even as US support was fading fast:

CIA Documents Show the U.S. M.I.C. Helped Saddam Hussein Use Chemical Weapons
By Michael Krieger: But the CIA documents, which sat almost entirely
unnoticed in a trove of declassified material at the National Archives
in College Park, Md., combined with exclusive interviews with former
intelligence officials, reveal new details about the depth of the United
States’ knowledge of how and when Iraq employed the deadly agents. They
show that senior U.S. officials were being regularly informed about the
scale of the nerve gas attacks. They are tantamount to an official
American admission of complicity in some of the most gruesome chemical
weapons attacks ever launched.

Well unsurprisingly, Mr. Hussein had a little help from his friends. The United States of America.

in an interview with the Russian newspaper of Izvestia, President
al-Assad stressed that "the majority of those we are fighting are
Takfiris, who adopt the al-Qaeda doctrine, in addition to a small number
of outlaws." On the alleged use of chemical weapons, President al-Assad
said that the statements by the US administration, the West and other
countries were made with disdain and blatant disrespect of their own
public opinion, adding that "there isn’t a body in the world,
let alone a superpower, that makes an accusation and then goes about
collecting evidence to prove its point." Al-Assad stressed that these accusations are completely politicised and come on the back of the advances made by the Syrian Army against the terrorists.

15 Signs That Obama 'The Nobel Prize Winning Baby Bomber' Has Already Made The Decision To Annihilate Syria + The Killer Queen is the War Machine - BBC Sucks O Cocks News
By Michael Snyder: The Obama administration seems absolutely determined to help radical Islamic jihadists that have beheaded Christians, that have massacred entire Christian villages, and that have pledged loyalty to al-Qaeda
topple the Assad regime and take over Syria. Yes, the Assad regime is
horrible, but if these jihadist lunatics take control it will
destabilize the entire region, make the prospect of a major regional war
much more probable, and plunge the entire nation of Syria into a
complete and utter nightmare. It has been estimated that somewhere
around 100,000 people have already been killed in the civil war in
Syria, and now it looks like the U.S. military and the rest of NATO plan
to become directly involved in the conflict. The Obama administration
is actually considering an attack on Syria even though the American
people are overwhelmingly against it, Obama does not have Congressional
approval to start a war, and he will never get approval for military
action from the UN because it will be blocked by Russia. This is setting up to become a colossal foreign policy disaster for the United States.

Palestinian Liberation Organization points out genocidal Israeli regime's double-standards
UK BANNED Press TV: Palestinian Liberation
Organization (PLO) officials have accused the Israeli regime of playing
double-standards following Tel Aviv's plans for the expansion of

The officials said on Monday that the Israelis sit for talks, but at the same time they allocate more funds for the expansion of settlements. They also noted that Israel’s ethnic cleansing in East al-Quds (Jerusalem) is “a direct blow to the so-called talks.”
Moreover, PLO spokeswoman Hanan Ashrawi said the move shows total disregard for the initiatives in the talks.
On Sunday, the Israeli regime approved the construction of another 1,500 new illegal settler units in East al-Quds (Jerusalem), despite widespread international criticism of settlements in the occupied Palestinian territories.

The willfully ignorant masses don’t care. Did you see that crazy Miley Cyrus last night. If I had a daughter, she could be Miley.
In case you want to know the truth, the National Debt is really $17 trillion. We’ve added at least $220 billion of debt since June 1. The fraudulent payback of $150 billion by Fannie & Freddie is nothing but an accounting gimmick designed to give the appearance that Obama isn’t really running $1 trillion deficits.

credited: ‘Attacks using chemical weapons have killed hundreds of people
near the Syrian capital, Damascus, the opposition alliance says’. The
Opposition alliance, folks, is a polite way of saying “Those nice guys
in the Muslim Brotherhood what America backs, like”. So we can trust
them, right?
In a classic clanger of a quote in the Telegraph last Wednesday,
William ‘Mekon’ Hague told the Party’s house magazine, “Evidence of the
attack is deteriorating every day”. And he dismissed claims that the
Brotherhood may have staged or even committed the atrocity themselves.
Given they have form in this area, it is baffling me as to why Willy is
so sure….given that he presented no evidence at the time – or since.
