NHS Gender Survey Is Given To Ten-Year-Olds

By : So much of the NHS is in crisis today, for reasons we understand only too well, yet taxpayers’ money is available for ideologically-driven child abuse. In today’s Times:

Health officials are asking children aged ten whether they are “comfortable in their gender” as part of survey being conducted in schools.
The NHS questionnaire given to Year 6 pupils asks: “Do you feel the same inside as the gender you were born with? (feeling male or female)”.
They are also asked to tick a box to confirm their gender, with the options boy, girl and other, according to The Daily Telegraph.
The questionnaire was sent to schools across Lancashire by the NHS foundation trust in the county. Parents have been told that it would help healthcare workers and teachers to develop “better ways to understand and support” children who may be struggling with their identity.
Critics warned that the form was intrusive and could confuse children. Tim Loughton, the former Conservative children’s minister, said that the move was unsettling for children. “At a time when children are growing up and having to deal with all sorts of challenges of the modern world, now they are being asked to confront their gender,” he said.
“Clearly we need to be sensitive about the issue of gender and sexual orientation but forcing children to question whether they are the right gender so early on can be deeply destabilising.”
The NHS does not offer gender reassignment therapy to people under the age of 18, but children can have hormone treatment.
Lyndsey Simpson, whose ten-year-old daughter was given the survey at her Church of England school, said: “I don’t want someone putting into my daughter’s head that she might not be happy with her own gender.”
It comes after Mermaids, the charity for transgender and “gender diverse” children, said that it had had an almost 700 per cent rise in calls and emails in three years. Calls to and from children and their families increased from 199 a year to more than 1,700, and the number of emails it received rose from 296 to more than 2,200.
A training manager at Mermaids told a conference held by the Royal Society of Medicine last month: “Children are accessing YouTube channels and they are self-identifying much younger.”
Almost 2,000 children have been seen by specialist doctors in the past year, according to the Gender Identity Development Service. It has also emerged that children as young as three are getting specialist help, and those aged 11 and older are being allowed to take hormones to prevent them going through puberty.
Bernadette Wren, a consultant clinical psychologist at the Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust, the only facility specialising in child gender identity, attributed the rise to “greater recognition of transgender and gender-diverse people”.
Drag queens have also been brought in to nursery schools, funded by the taxpayer, so that children as young as two can learn about gender issues. The performers are reading nursery rhymes and singing songs “to teach children about LGBT tolerance”.
