A major inquiry should be held, but won’t be. Such an inquiry might reveal that the the key driver of the phenomenon is fatherlessness, and the state is largely responsible for that, by incentivising women to remove men from their children’s lives, and incentivising them to become pregnant with no intention of having a relationship with the men who have made them pregnant. State support for single mothers comes mainly from men, who pay almost 75% of income tax in the UK.The Times piece:
A teenager has been stabbed to death in the third knife murder in two days in London, raising this year’s violent deaths in the capital to an estimated 60.Source
The 18-year-old was attacked in Forest Gate, Newham, east London — an area rife with gang problems — at about 10.50pm.
Police, paramedics and London’s air ambulance attended the scene, but the victim — the 11th teenager to be killed in the capital this year — died before he could be taken to hospital.
The 60 homicides in London so far this year compares to a total of 116 last year. There were 601 murders nationwide in 2017.
Amber Rudd, the home secretary, last week launched her serious violent crime strategy amid criticism for a failure to address police numbers.
Sadiq Khan, the mayor of London, said: “My heart goes out to the friends and family of the teenager who lost his life in Forest Gate last night.
“I am in close contact with the police and I am reassured that they are doing everything they can to bring those responsible to justice and keep Londoners safe.”
On Sunday a young father and a woman in her 30s were stabbed to death in alleged domestic incidents and two young victims were taken to hospital after a knife brawl.
Samantha Clarke, 38, was stabbed to death at a terrace house in Brixton, south London, on Sunday at about 6.30pm. A man named locally as Jordan Clarke, 24, was arrested on suspicion of murder. It is believed the victim is his aunt.
Mrs Clarke had a 14-year-old son. Her husband, Paul, told the Daily Mail: “She was a loving mum. Everything she did was for her son. She just wanted to spend as much time with him as possible.”
In a separate incident about half an hour earlier Raul Nicolaie, 26, was killed at his home in Colindale, north London, on Sunday at about 6pm. The Romanian painter-decorator had a four-month-old son, his mother said.
Mr Nicolaie’s mother, Eva Chiriac, was visiting relatives in Romania when she was informed of the attack and is returning to London today to identify his body.
“I can’t explain my pain in words. He has a baby boy who was born on New Year’s Day. Raul was so excited to have a son and wanted the best for his new baby,” Ms Chiriac told the Evening Standard newspaper.
“My boy was just 26 years old. He was a good man and we want justice for his death. I still don’t know what happened. I will love him all my life.”
Air ambulance and ambulance crews treated him and he was taken to hospital in central London but died later in the evening.
A 34-year-old woman was arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder. She was taken to a north London police station where she remains in custody.
Also on Sunday, an 18-year-old man was found with stab wounds near Alexandra Palace in Haringey, north London, at about 9.20pm. He was taken to hospital after reports of a fight involving large knives in the street. Police said he was in a serious but stable condition last night.
A second victim, whose age was not disclosed, was found in Southgate with knife wounds as a result of the same fight. A 19-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of affray.
Scotland Yard said that its newly formed “violent crime taskforce” had seized a double-bladed weapon in the Waltham Forest area of north London. Over the weekend officers raided eight properties and made seven arrests over the weekend. Class A drugs and a revolver were seized.
