Armed forces have enough non-combat roles that sexist Selective Service registration could have been abolished even before opening any combat roles to women. In fact, the U.S. government has moved forward to require all combat positions be open to women. Mainstream news sources prominently feature stories about women signing up for elite military units. Yet abolishing sexist Selective Service, like showing any concern about gender disparities in active-duty injury and death incidence and enacting divorce equality for child custody and child support, hasn’t happened.

Perpetrators Of Homicide By Sex

By William Collins aka MRA-UK: This post is in response to a question raised in comments to my last piece, Invisible Dead Men. It addresses the sex of perpetrators of known homicide cases, the number of unsolved homicide cases, and what we know about the male:female ratio of perpetrators of all homicides.

1. Suspects by Sex

From this ONS Bulletin we find: of the 530 homicides initially recorded in the year ending March 2015, court proceedings had concluded for 285 suspects (51% of all suspects). For those suspects, where proceedings had concluded, 90% were male (257 suspects), 9% were female (26 suspects) and in 1% (2 cases) the homicides were corporate manslaughter.
In my previous post, Invisible Dead Men, I quoted the above 90% figure as being the proportion of male perpetrators of homicide. This was rightly questioned. It is actually the proportion of suspects. We shall see below that 90% is pretty close as the proportion of those convicted also.
However, some homicide cases have no suspect.
And a suspect is not necessarily convicted.

By Tyler Durden: After South Africa's embattled president Jacob Zuma pledged, in a surprising address to parliament one month ago, to break up white ownership of business and land to reduce inequality (in a State of the Nation address which was disrupted by a fistfight), it now appears that Zuma's intentions to convert what was until recently Africa's most prosperous economy into a new Zimbabwe were all too real, and as the Telegraph reports, the South African president officially called on parliament to change South Africa’s constitution to allow the expropriation of white owned land without compensation.
Zuma, 74, who made the remarks in a speech on Friday morning, said he wanted to establish a “pre-colonial land audit of land use and occupation patterns” before changing the law.
“We need to accept the reality that those who are in parliament where laws are made, particularly the black parties, should unite because we need a two-thirds majority to effect changes in the constitution,” he said.
