The Social Contract Is Dead - Do You Get It Now?

Here is what is happening right now. A social contract is simple. Citizens work, pay their taxes, and respect the law. In return, the state is supposed to protect them, their homes, and their streets. In France, that bargain has collapsed. Gangs loot shops and set cars on fire. Ordinary people are told to stay quiet, keep paying, and accept the destruction. The same pattern is visible across Western Europe. The state continues to collect taxes while failing to deliver basic safety and order.

The French Protests Are Being Misunderstood

By Dr. Paul Craig Roberts: The French protests that are spreading over Europe are not receiving proper attention.  The explanation that students all over France, with the disturbances spreading into Italy and Belgium, are burning down historic buildings and looting businesses because they are dissatisfied with the conditions of their school buildings is not a convincing narrative.  Some suspect the violence is connected with the immigrant-invaders, and it is, but it is a different connection than suspected. 

My take on the events is that the uprising, which seems to be what it is, is the result of many years of frustration and disappointments suffered by European ethnicities because of their rulers’ disregard of them..

European and British governments have spent their energies on matters that negatively impact their populations.
