Brazilian Rainforest CLEARED – To Prepare For A Climate Conference!

Jimmy Dore: You’d think climate activists would be up in arms about the new four-lane highway being cut through tens of thousands of acres of protected Amazon rainforest. Except it turns ou the highway is being built expressly for the upcoming COP30 climate summit in the Brazilian city of Belém.

The highway aims to ease traffic to the city, which will host more than 50,000 people - including world leaders - at the conference in November.

The state government touts the highway's "sustainable" credentials, but some locals and conservationists are, in fact, outraged at the environmental impact.

Jimmy and Kurt Metzger discuss the irony of cutting down rainforest in preparation for a climate summit.
