Leo Kearse: A man drove a car into pedestrians in Ealing, London this week, seriously injuring them and raising a few questions.
According to the official police statement, the car was driven by a 34-year-old "Somalia-born British man". A Somalia-born British man. Somalia is part of Britain now, apparently. Maybe Cornwall extended its borders to the Horn of Africa?
If a supermarket put "British Beef" on beef imported from Somalia, they'd be prosecuted by the government. So how can the government put "British man" on a man imported from Somalia? I don't care if there's a bit of paper saying he's British. He's as much of a "British man" as Suzy Izzard is a woman.
