Does The Gender Of The Victim Impact How A Crime Is Experienced And Does That Matter?
By Janet Bloomfield (aka JudgyBitch): Ally Fogg has a series of articles up at the Guardian that offer a confusing set of principles and ideas about gender and crime. Writing about domestic violence, Fogg asserts that men and women experience the crime differently, or at the very least, that there are gendered considerations that must be taken into account.
There might be a temptation for some to simply strip away the gender politics from intimate crimes, to describe them and address them as gender-neutral or even gender-free. From discussions with friends and colleagues in both the men’s and women’s sectors, it is clear this is something almost nobody wants. Just as there is a political and social context to violence against women and girls, there is a different but no less relevant context to intimate violence against men.
Male victims have gender-specific issues and needs that can be fundamentally different to those of women. No one is helped by ignoring or wishing those contexts away.

Want To Bump The Birth Rate In The West? Pay Men
By Janet Bloomfield (aka JudgyBitch): According to The Week, America’s birth rate is ‘now a national emergency’ – at 59.6 births per 1000 women, it’s the lowest ever recorded. The Week identifies a reduction in teen pregnancy as one of the drivers, as well as people choosing to marry later and have fewer children, but it leaves out just the general aging of the population. A significant percentage of the female population is past menopause, which will also clearly skew the numbers. The fewer young, productive people you have to pay for entitlements for old, unproductive people, the steeper the bill for the entire society becomes. This basic problem is strangling Europe’s economies. And while the United States is among the least bad of the bunch, it is still headed in the wrong direction. Here’s the part I find fascinating, from a PEW survey, which generally tend to be pretty reliable:
Why No One In Their Right Mind Would Ever Date A Feminist
By Toy Soldiers: We must applaud Dave Hon for his recent article titled Why I’ll Never Date a Feminist. You already know how this ends before you read the article or see any of the feminist response to it. I will get that in a moment. What I want to point out is the brilliance of Hon’s strategy.
He wrote a click-bait article so obvious in its intent that only a self-absorbed, ideological narcissistic would be stupid enough to respond to it. What makes Hon’s article so magnificent is that the worst part of it is the title. The article itself is so civil, so benign, so vanilla that even if one wants to be offended, one has nothing to work with. Hon wrote:
If you look for a reason to hate men, chances are you’re going to find it.The truth is, I don’t blame women, (especially in my generation) for hating men. They’ve been told there’s a wage gap (I disagree). That there’s a culture of rape on college campuses (I also disagree). And the patriarchy is keeping them oppressed in almost every facet of their lives (I really, really disagree.) Political issues have been creeping into the bedroom. Now, they’re in romance. Because of the hateful culture, men are now demanding “consent texts” on campus before engaging in raunchy, post-party one night stands. Men’s Rights Activists have taken flight with a new philosophy called “Red Pill” which aims to point out how derogatory, hypocritical and vindictive third-wave feminists can be.
Interactions With 38 Degrees Concerning @PhilipDaviesMP At ICMI 2016
Jordan Holbrook: It’s been a short while since the Philip Davies kerfuffle, long enough to warrant the idea that all communication with 38 Degrees over their removal of the petition calling for his promotion has now ceased. As such I have collected various exchanges between regular townsfolk and 38 Degrees which I shall now present to you – for your enjoyment of course.
First and not necessarily foremost are my interactions with the 38 Degrees team. I started off with two offensive strategies, flagging the petition calling for Philip Davies MP’s resignation and sending an email concerned about the removal of the petition calling for his promotion. Let’s start with the former, shall we?

Unexplained Infant Deaths
By William Collins aka MRA-UK: Data on child homicides, and the perpetrators thereof, is subject to considerable obfuscation. The incompleteness and inconsistencies in child homicide data have been well described by Robert Whiston and Nigel Hawkes, and the overall picture is summarised in http://mhrm.uk/wiki/killing-children/. In a forthcoming post I will return to this issue with particular emphasis on perpetrators.
Cot death (SIDS) has been related to laying babies prone (right) rather than supine (left) The present post is by way of being a precursor to this. Here I look first at the data on all child deaths. The overwhelming bulk of these are from natural causes. Nevertheless the data reveals some interesting features, not least the dependence of child death rates on marital status, cohabitation and lone parenthood.
The focus of this post, though, is on unexplained infant deaths. We shall see that the dependence of unexplained infant death rates on marital status, cohabitation and lone parenthood is particularly marked. There are features in the data which are disconcerting and, I suspect, politically incorrect to notice. Hence the post.
It has long been argued that a certain, but unknown, percentage of unexplained infant deaths are actually covert homicides. This, then, forms the link with the planned subsequent post.
US War Economy And Presstitutes - CNN’s Wolf Blitzer Warns About Job Loss If The U.S. Stops Arming Saudi Arabia
By Michael Krieger: Ladies and gentlemen, it appears the long anticipated moment of peak mainstream media stupidity may have finally arrived.
This is what passes for journalism in America today.
The Intercept reports:
This is what passes for journalism in America today.
The Intercept reports:Sen. Rand Paul’s expression of opposition to a $1.1 billion U.S. arms sale to Saudi Arabia — which has been brutally bombing civilian targets in Yemen using U.S.-made weapons for more than a year now — alarmed CNN’s Wolf Blitzer on Thursday afternoon.
Blitzer’s concern: That stopping the sale could result in fewer jobs for arms manufacturers.
“So for you this is a moral issue,” he told Paul during the Kentucky Republican’s appearance on CNN. “Because you know, there’s a lot of jobs at stake.

Karl McCartney MP: We Must Ensure Schools And Colleges Are ‘Boy-Friendly’
By Karl McCartney MP: One of the great things about being a Member of Parliament in a marginal bellwether seat such as the City of Lincoln is the sheer variety of issues that you see and hear, many of which never reach the confines of the Westminster or Whitehall ‘Bubble’. Some of these though are One Nation issues which not only affect our Country as a whole, they also have a detrimental effect on lives, families, businesses and communities in each and every constituency across our great nation. This is why I am leading a Parliamentary debate today on the educational underperformance of boys and the gender education gap. In a welcome post-Brexit positive Britain embracing the opportunities in the global economy this issue is even more pressing. The underperformance and education gap is an issue that I have regularly come across, or has been raised with me when visiting local schools, businesses, training providers, universities and colleges in my constituency. I also see its impact when I see young men hanging around when they should be in work, on an Apprenticeship or at university or college. It is also clear to me that this issue crosses all social classes, geographical areas and ethnic groups. It is not just a “working class” issue. The gap in attainment is stark, starts young and is not new. At Key Stage 2 (in old money that is 11 years of age) the gap is six percentage points. For GCSEs, the gap for five A*-C including England and Maths is nine percentage points in England and over seven in the other three nations of the United Kingdom.
