By Author Douglas Galbi: The Christian Gospels conflate traditional Greco-Roman distinctions of epic and ordinary. The Gospel story of Lazarus epitomizes that extraordinary mixing. Christian Latin hymns followed the Gospels in bringing heaven to earth. Heaven in earthy incarnation characterizes the Christian way of salvation. “Let every age now recognize {Agnoscat omne saeculum},” a hymn probably written in the sixth century for the celebration of Christmas, brings together the epic and the ordinary, heaven and earth:

So Mary in her womb conceived
by seed bestowed by faithful word;
him whom a world does not sustain
a young girl’s belly now contains.

A manger’s confines he endured
who was author of light itself;
he with the father formed the sky,
he his mother’s swaddling donned.

Shown here expressing their sorrow and rage after a powerful confrontation with Senator Flake, of Snowflake, Utah, a devout Mormon, who then in turn made a “tiny gesture” based on their peaceful demands. Archila suggested the Senator consider the security of his children and grandchildren for the next fifty years. Maria Gallagher, a sex abuse survivor, demanded he “look her in the eyes and tell her that the pain of millions of sexual assault survivors did not matter”.
Ana Maria Archila, Executive Director of the Center for Popular Democracy (CPD), put everything on the line and risked deportation from the United States by cornering and encouraging Sen. Flake into making that “tiny gesture” in order to protect our most basic political institutions.
Flake, as you will no doubt remember, voted to advance the nomination of Brett Kavanaugh, who was known at that time to be an accused serial gang rapist, out of the Senate Judiciary Committee.

By Tyler Durden: US troops at the US-Mexico border are laying down approximately 1,000 feet of razor wire fending along the Texas side of the Rio Grande river underneath the McAllen-Hidalgo International Bridge, as three separate caravans of Central Americans make their way north in the hopes of claiming asylum.
Soldiers participating in "Operation Faithful Patriot" are working with US Customs and Border Patrol officers to install the fending, according to the Department of Defense.

His administration has made it clear that it wants crippling sanctions on Iran to serve the same purpose as the Bush administration’s 2003 invasion of Iraq.
Since withdrawing in May from the 2015 Iran nuclear deal, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), Trump has been looking for ways to turn up the pressure on the Iranian regime. On November 4, US sanctions on the country’s vital oil industry will go into force. And the administration wants to go even further, by imposing secondary sanctions on other countries with the goal of shutting Iran out of the dollar-based global economy entirely.
