By Dr. Paul Craig Roberts: I have been attempting to make sense out of Putin’s halting of the Russian offensive in Donbass, thus handing the initiative over to Ukraine, which Ukraine has attempted to exploit in counter-offensives. The first counter-offensive in Kherson was destroyed, but the second one in the Kharkov area, where Russian forces were thin, forced a Russian pullback.

 I have also been attempting to make sense out of Putin’s endless announcements of red lines that he never enforces while the “limited conflict” widens precipitously, now with Ukraine’s request for Washington to supply long range missiles capable of attacking the Kerch Bridge, Russia’s Black Sea naval base in Crimea, and Russian towns and cities.  Already Ukraine has attacked Russian villages close to its border to little effect, which is perhaps why the attacks called forth no response from the Kremlin. Washington, eyeing Putin’s lack of response to violations of his red lines, and so far encountering no Russian response to the widening of the war, is considering supplying the long-range missiles, perhaps through third parties, to Ukraine.

No matter how noble its stated intentions, the "Great Reset" is at its heart a program for driving political power away from individual citizens and toward the controlling interests of a small international class of financial elites. Authored by Mark Oshinskie: When I was 10, I had a 12-year-old sister, Denise, and two brothers. Lenny was 14 and Danny was 5. We boys slept in the same room in a small, single-story house in a modest, riverside neighborhood known as Pleasureland. 

The neighborhood’s name derived from a nearby park with two swimming pools and many picnic tables. On weekends, people from all over North Jersey and even New York City went there and to the adjacent, similar Muller’s Park, where I got my first job, at 15, as a garbageman. Both parks closed in 1985 after two were killed and nine more were wounded in an assault rifle shootout during a late Sunday afternoon, late summer Brooklyn/Jamaican gang picnic. I had swum and dived off the high board there at twilight on Friday, two days prior.

In the week before our last Pleasureland Christmas, in 1967, my Mom expressed to me her concern that Danny no longer believed in Santa Claus. She thought that one of the neighborhood kids had told Danny that Santa wasn’t real. The prospect of having no more Santa-believing kids saddened her. She made me swear not to tell Danny what I knew. I kept my word.

Western Civilization Is In Its Final Years

By Dr. Paul Craig Roberts: Perhaps other civilizations have destroyed themselves, but it is certain that the Western world has destroyed itself.  Other civilizations might have underestimated a threat, or made a military blunder, or like Cartage antagonized a more powerful foe.  But the Western world is the first in history that, despite its dominant economic and military power, dismantled itself.

Everywhere one looks in the Western world, governments, intellectual and professional elites, and media have picked apart Western Civilization with relentless demonization beginning in the 1960s. (And yes there are older roots. The “march through the institutions” Frankfort School moved to Columbia University in the 1930s.) White liberals thought that this was the way to reform society, but they were delusional.  It is the way to deconstruct society, and that is what they have achieved.

Education, media, Hollywood, and white liberal politicians are weapons deployed against white society.  They have painted a picture for all generations that came after mine of Western civilization as a racist oppressor of all other peoples — people of color, people who are not heterosexual, people unsure of their gender, and women.  Feminists, minority rights activists, lesbian and homosexual activists, transgender rights activists, together with the Jewish neoconservatives who advocate US wars in Israel’s interests, have been the dominating forces in the Western world for 60 years.
