Angelo: At school in the 1970's I learned the propaganda of the time that in the second world war 1.5 to 2.5 million in concentration camps of Gypsies, Greeks and even a few Jews and more races were killed. today the narrative is that the whole affair was about the slaughter of 6 million Jews and apparently nothing else. What's that all about? Draw your own conclusions as the facts and disparities speak for themselves. Now as South Africa declares Israel an apartheid state the contradictions are astounding. My Prussian friend Konijnenburg offered annoyance and other perspectives for me even then. People in every day life astound me with their comprehension and yet the dictated narrative persists and rules in contrast.
It can take a lifetime to escape the conditioning and the Stockholm syndrome sympathy for the state. I would be glad to hear alternatives. The Venus project replaces the state with a computer, again for the best intentions but in the spirit of 'there's no such thing as true ignorance, a more arbitrary ruler (Venus-HAL) is not feasible or good enough if you prefer for the human race in my opinion. Our decision making complex needs to move closer to the individual and I submit to you that as we have the technology for crypto currency bitcoin, the internet, etc., we have today more than ever the opportunity for the truest ever form of democracy, 'open direct government by the people.'
Imagine turning the YouTube, e-mail, skype, twitter etc. phenomenon to the work of running the planet, turned our attention, to some extent from Football, X-Factor and towards this end. Would we have gone to war with Iraq, would we have bailed the banksters and not the people, would we have funds instantly available for war and none to heat the homes of the below breadline elderly if the people voted directly at a weekly or emergency sessions if necessary. From the comfort of their homes or free online facilities at their accessible local library?
We don't need the Venus project HAL super computer or technocrats to make decisions for us but we could all actively use an utterly free and unencumbered internet, in essence a possible humanist nervous system to help every person connect to be a sensor for fairer and no doubt better in the medium and long term decision making for our evolution.
Imagine local people debating and deciding on the course of their own local affairs. The Angel project if you like. Angel is old Greek for messenger. Dear Mrs Biggins - you have mail (The 68 old retired biddy at 21 Prospect Road, ABC 123, UK) today we are voting on war with Iraq and heating provisions for the elderly. You chose. ;-)
The Government would be as flat as a pancake. It would be us not them. It is no less a fairy story than the faux democratic technocratic MIC bankocracy we have inherited. See that as a mud hut in comparison to the possible comfortable modern home. We have been adding mud to the hut for too long. it's time to lay the foundations for the modern house. I submit that the foundations are 'open direct government' and the financial events of the past half decade if not the past century scream "it's time for our velvet revolution." The redemption of the state edifice would contribute amply to smooth the transition.
Book up. Long live the evolution.
