Niger, Burkina Faso & Mali Just Quit ECOWAS After This Happened!
We Love Africa: The military juntas in Niger, Burkina Faso, and Mali are projecting their authority in one of the most shocking ways. Just recently, it has been announced that these three countries would immediately withdraw from the Economic Community of West African States, ECOWAS, the same bloc that has been threatening to attack Niger and has put stringent sanctions.
But what became the reason for such an abrupt withdrawal at this time? Was the pullback mutually decided between all three juntas, or was the decision made separately? Above all, what message does this exit give, and how will it change the broader geopolitical landscape for Niger, Burkina Faso, and Mali?
