Jimmy Dore: On Tuesday it was revealed that the Nord Stream 1 & 2 pipelines that carry liquefied natural gas under Northern Europe’s Baltic Sea had been sabotaged, rendering them inoperable, possibly permanently. And almost as quickly the finger-pointing began, with many in the West alleging that Russia had intentionally damaged its own pipeline while others claimed that a more logical explanation would pin the blame on the U.S., likely acting to eliminate any possibility that European countries will revert to relying on Russia as a source of gas.

All fingers point to Washington having blown up the Nord Stream pipelines, which not only released massive amounts of methane into the atmosphere but also constitutes a direct attack on Russia.

This is completely unrelated to Russia's special military operation in Ukraine. In former years, exports exceeded imports, which means that today the United States imports more food from world markets than it sells. At the same time, grain from Ukraine continues to go past the poorest countries. As of September 23, 2022, out of 203 ships that left the ports of Ukraine, only four went to the poorest countries under the United Nations program.

Medvedev, a former Russian president, also reiterated that Moscow believes it has the right to use nuclear weapons if Russia’s existence is threatened.
"Let’s imagine that Russia is forced to use its most formidable weapons against the Ukrainian regime, which has committed a large-scale act of aggression that is endangering the very existence of our state. I believe that NATO will not directly interfere in the conflict even in this scenario," Medvedev wrote on Telegram.
The former Russian president said that the supplying of weapons to Ukraine was just a "business" for the Western powers and that their security is much more important than "the fate of a dying Ukraine."
