Dutch Minister: Young Locals Can Just Live With Their Parents, Migrants Get Houses First

Dutch Housing Minister Elanor Boekholt-O'Sullivan drew sharp criticism this week after defending priority access to scarce social housing for recognized refugees, arguing that many young Dutch first-time home seekers "can still live with their parents."

Via Remix News: In an interview with De Telegraaf, the D66 minister was asked why status holders - asylum seekers granted residence permits - should receive preference for social rental homes while Dutch "starters" face long waiting lists and delayed independence. She responded that "we see that a lot of starters can still, or are allowed to, live with their parents."

Dutch commentator and activist Eva Vlaardingerbroek wrote on X that the policy amounted to "systemic racism."

Asked if the Netanyahu government’s claim that the killed civilians were Hamas’ “human shields,” Israeli soldiers and intelligence officials said: “Hamas uses human shields in some cases but the human shield claim about private houses is absurd. It’s just not true. The civilians were not shielding the target. The target was followed by Israel to the civilians.”

By Tyler Durden: A new documentary from investigative outlet Muckraker traces the migrant route from West Africa through Spain and France to Britain, examining what the outlet describes as a network sustained by taxpayer-funded aid programs, NGOs, and even Western governments.

The 47-minute film, "Replacing Europe," draws on months of reporting and undercover footage to investigate the logistics and top NGO players behind the nation-killing mass migration into Europe. 

"The entire migration is a game," says Sheikh M. Kromah, identified by Muckraker as a worker for the UN's International Organization for Migration. He alleges that Spain has a financial incentive to maintain arrivals because reducing them could jeopardize EU funding.

Muckraker claims that publicly funded institutions help sustain the migration flows that European governments publicly promise to control. Its interviews raise questions about oversight, spending incentives and the boundary between humanitarian assistance and facilitating illegal alien border crossings into Europe.

By Steve Watson: In a South Richmond Hill home in Queens, police found 5-year-old Fabiana Cabello unconscious, bleeding from her nose and mouth with a bruise on her temple. Her mother, 32-year-old Francis Cabello, had called 911 just before 7 p.m. on Wednesday, admitting to killing her own child. 

Officers rushed Fabiana to Jamaica Hospital. She did not survive. Autopsy findings showed scrapes and broken blood vessels around her eyes, heart, and lungs consistent with asphyxia. Cabello was charged with second-degree murder and held without bail.

These cases cost school districts millions in court costs, but the school officials never seem to face any consequences. In California, Piner High School has joined this ignoble effort, punishing the high school football captain for expressing support for the "Cornell 7" on his own Instagram page. Other students then protested not to support free speech but to demand further punishment for the student. I wonder where they learned that repressive view of free speech?

According to media reports, the unnamed student wrote "Free the Cornell Seven" on his personal Instagram account and the school called him out. As should be obvious to any teacher or administrator, this is entirely protected speech under the First Amendment. The student was not discussing the school, calling for some school disruption or destruction of property, or encouraging violence. He was stating his view that defendants who have not been tried, let alone convicted, are innocent.

New Dementia Cases Projected To More Than Double Globally By 2050

Authored by Naveen Athrappully: The number of new annual dementia cases worldwide is estimated to increase more than twofold by 2050 from 2023 levels, according to a recently published peer-reviewed study.

Published in the JAMA Neurology journal on Oct. 12, the study analyzed data from more than 38,000 individuals across 18 nations and territories.

Based on the calculated incidence rate of dementia, the researchers estimated that in 2050, there would be 24.7 million new cases worldwide, up by more than 116 percent from 11.4 million new cases in 2023.

Gender-wise, incidence rates were found to be higher among women than men.

Middle-income and lower-income nations had higher rates than richer countries.
