Anti-Islam demo turns violent in UK

UK BANNED Press TV: "An extremely unwelcome protest"; the words of the West Midlands police as around one thousand members of far-right anti-Islam group English Defense League - also known as EDL - descended on Birmingham for another demonstration.

They gathered at a local bar since morning, and shouted expletive slogans about Islam, Allah and Muslims.

This protest is particularly contentious with EDL supporters being bussed in from around the country; to come to Birmingham where 1 in 5 of the city's one million population is Muslim; in the middle of Ramadan and as mosques across the country are attacked.
