Fathers4Justice today called on mothers and fathers to boycott the
retailer Mothercare until they delist the Baby K range by celebrity mum
Myleene Klass. The group say that Ms Klass has refused to deny press
reports that she denied her children access to their dad for over a year
and that the retailer should delist the range as a result.
The group say a social media and advertising campaign will follow and protests at Mothercare stores are being considered.
Said F4J Campaign Director Nadine O’Connor, “Mothercare should be open to all parents irrespective of gender. Being associated with a celebrity mother who has reportedly denied a dad access to his children is both morally and ethically wrong and may cause harm to their reputation.”
“We hope they will listen to the views of the families we represent and delist the Baby K range until such time Myleene Klass makes a public statement denying these reports.”
Fathers4Justice say that contact denial is profoundly damaging to children and a serious abuse of their human rights to family life with their father. According to the Office for National Statistics, nearly 4 million children now live in fatherless homes.
