I am guessing it's connected to the October 21 bombings conducted by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).
What is special about these bombings? Well the AFU were utilizing targeting data from and authorized by U.S. European Command (EUCOM), and carried out a strike using several “Storm Shadow/SCALP-EG” Air-Launched Cruise Missiles against the Bryansk Chemical Plant in Western Russia. One of the largest producers of gunpowder, explosives, and rocket fuel components for the Russian Armed Forces.
Monday’s strike against Russia, is one of the, if not the, first carried out by Ukraine since authority for supporting such attacks was recently transferred from Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth at the Pentagon to Gen. Alexus G. Grynkewich, Supreme NATO Allied Commander Europe, in early October.
Overall
With the US apparently cancelling a Summit Meeting between Trump and Putin in Budapest, and with targets deep inside Russia now being hit by Ukraine, things do not bode well for peace.
In my opinion, sooner or later, Russia is going to be hit in a place, or in a manner, that causes them to tell the United States, "You did this."
Whether it is supplying long-range weaponry, or programming those weapons FOR Ukraine to fire, or by supplying US military satellite connections for such weapons to be guided to targets inside Russia, it seems to me personally that sooner or later, Russia will tell the US:
'We have repeatedly warned you. We have warned you over and over and over again. You laughed at the warnings, calling Russia a "paper tiger." Well you aren't going to be laughing much longer. You hit us, so now we are going to hit you."
The worst part, Russia has hypersonic missiles that can be launched from submarines that are already off our east coast, west coast, and Gulf coast. They can hit us anywhere in the Continental United States and, because their missiles are Hypersonic, we cannot intercept them.
If, God forbid, such a moment comes, the U.S. will have earned it through our constant meddling in Ukraine and our near constant escalation of that conflict.
Of course, the U.S. will clutch its pearls, and whine "Oy vey, we've been attacked" when it has been the U.S. from day one -- prior to the year 2014 -- that has literally fomented, financed, and facilitated the entire Ukraine conflict! We are the guilty party, yet we will whine like a girl when we finally get hit back for what we're doing.
The whining will likely fall on deaf ears.

If any of the numerous commentators still had illusions – here you go. The USA is our enemy, and their talkative "peacemaker" has now fully taken up the path of war with Russia.
Yes, he does not always actively fight on the side of Banderite Kiev yet, but this is now his conflict, not the senile Biden's!
Of course, they will say that he could not do otherwise, that he was pressured in Congress, etc. This does not change the main thing: the decisions made are an act of war against Russia. And now Trump has fully aligned himself with the insane Europe.
But there is a clear plus in the next swing of the Trump pendulum: it is possible to strike with various weapons at all Banderite hideouts without looking back at unnecessary negotiations.
And to achieve victory exactly where it is only possible. On the ground, not behind a desk. Destroying enemies, not making meaningless "deals".”
Russia's current President, Vladimir Putin, also made some terse remarks today:
Putin: Russia’s response in the event of Tomahawk strikes on its territory will be serious — if not downright staggering.
Putin: New US sanctions are an attempt to put pressure on Russia. No self-respecting country ever does anything under pressure.
Putin: The summit in Budapest was proposed by the American side.
